Canada Hoard $10 George V Gold Coin – PCGS MS63 (Paired Coins)
The Canada Hoard $10 George V coin pair is a rare and historic issue, struck from the gold reserves of the Canadian government in the early 20th century. These coins were produced when Canada was still part of the British Commonwealth between 1912 and 1914, marking some of the first gold coins minted for circulation in Canada.
Commissioned by the British Royal Mint, the Royal Canadian Mint struck 295,814 CAD $5 coins and 364,059 CAD $10 coins using gold extracted from north-western India. Production ceased in 1914 due to World War I, and many coins were withdrawn and melted down, adding to the rarity of surviving examples.
